Los Angeles Chapter Director Vince Attardo reports that the recent meeting presented by CFI President Matt Sanders of EcoStar, Inc. went very well. Matt did a great job sharing with the group the good the bad and the ugly of containment building. Attendees shared with each other how we all can improve the industry we represent by keeping up the level of professionalism we provide in our businesses and services to our customers.

Orange / Inland Empire Directors Graham Bedwell and Jason Hensley announce the following dates for future chapter meetings in 2010: April 20, June 8, August 17, October 12, and December 7.

Central Coast Chapter Director Rick Lewis invites everyone to once again join us Saturday June 26, 2010 for our annual “CFI Gives Back” volunteer carpet and upholstery cleaning at Ronald Mc Donald House in Palo Alto. CFI members will donate their time and supplies to clean the carpets and upholstery for the well know organization.

Rick Lewis and Northern California Director Matt Cole want to remind everyone that “The Cleaners Coffee Club” meetings in San Carlos and Sacramento are a great place to meet and network with other cleaning professionals in a casual setting. The meetings are sponsored by CFI and ProLine University of Cleaning & Restoration, courtesy of past CFI President Steve Kaufman. The meetings in San Carlos are held on the first Tuesday of every month. For further information call Rick at (650) 766-5630.

Arizona Chapter Director Norma McCormick reports that the recent hands-on training for upholstery held at Clean Center was very good. Everyone was able to try different tools, chemicals and cleaning processes. In April, the Arizona Chapter will be hosting “Social Media” in Tempe. For more information call Norma at (480) 821-1481, or by email at Norma@cleanNfreshcleaning.com.

May 13 will bring a special event to Tempe featuring CFI President Matt Sanders. Matt will present a one-day course that will cover topics such as board-ups, material and adhesive selection and application, preliminary surface documentation and protection, airlocks, containment panel fabrication, floating containments, box-outs and lids, airflow management and portable contents decontamination hoods. A must for those interested in eliminating surface damages caused by containment installations or for those who would like to dramatically improve containment appearance and stability on remediation and restoration projects.

For more on the CFI, go to www.carpet9.org or call (800) 227-7389.
