CFI Secretary-Treasurer Greg Trigiero reports that the San Diego chapter of the Carpet & Fabricare Institute had a successful meeting at Innovative Surface Solutions, an industry leader in stone floor training and manufacturing of diamond products and stone cleaners and sealers. This hands-on program gave each person in attendance the chance to practice marble polishing with diamond pads and Monkey Pads.

Jeff Bishop and Ruth Travis recently gave an update on the carpet manufacturing and the carpet cleaning industry at a San Diego chapter meeting. They were in town teaching a RCT class at the San Diego Stanley Steemer facility. Ruth gave a background and an update on the WoolSafe program, followed by Jeff who presented a 15-point industry update.

Orange/Inland Empire Directors Graham Bedwell and Jason Hensley invite everyone to attend a special one-day event starting at 8:00 am on May 18, featuring CFI President Matt Sanders of EcoStar, Inc. This is an IICRC-approved day of Advanced Containment Design and Construction. To register call CFI at 800-CARPET-9 (800-227-7389).

Central Coast Chapter Director Rick Lewis invites everyone to the annual “CFI Gives Back” volunteer carpet and upholstery cleaning at Ronald Mc Donald House in Palo Alto on June 26. CFI members will donate their time and supplies to clean the carpets and upholstery for the well know organization.

Rick and Northern California Director Matt Cole want to remind everyone that “The Cleaners Coffee Club” meetings in San Carlos and Sacramento are a great place to meet and network with other cleaning professionals in a casual setting. The meetings are sponsored by CFI and ProLine University of Cleaning & Restoration, courtesy of past CFI President Steve Kaufman. Members and non-members are invited to join in at no cost. For further information call Rick Lewis at (650) 766-5630.

CFI President Matt Sanders will also present the IICRC-approved Advanced Containment and Design course on May 13 in Tempe, Ariz., according to Arizona Director Norma McCormick. It is a must-attend for those interested in eliminating surface damages caused by containment installations or for those who would like to dramatically improve containment appearance and stability on remediation and restoration projects.

For more information on the CFI, go to www.carpet9.org or call (800) 227-7389.
