SteamMaster Restoration & Cleaning President Gary Gilman recently accepted the Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Vail Valley Partnership. The Partnership hosted its Annual Awards Gala on February 5 at the Lodge in Vail. SteamMaster was a finalist for the first ever Citizenship Award for its long-time involvement in the community.

“I’m extremely honored to be selected for this entrepreneur award,” says Gilman. “This award also reflects our company’s pride and team members’ commitment to providing excellent service and healthy indoor environments to our customers.”

Eligible nominees for Entrepreneur of the Year are business presidents, founders or owners who are primarily responsible for the recent outstanding performance of their business. Gilman founded SteamMaster in 1978 with one van for carpet cleaning. The company has grown to include other specialty cleaning services, water and fire restoration services and mold remediation. In the millennium, Gilman has added Colorado Basement Systems to offer solutions for moisture and water in basements and crawl spaces.

“Among the initiatives we use to keep our customers happy and increase profitability includes employee incentives and recognition and customer satisfaction report cards which are personally reviewed by our CEO, Raj Manickam,” adds Gilman. “Customer satisfaction and extending world-class solutions is the key to our success.”

SteamMaster’s commitment to the community was recognized with its Citizenship Award nomination. The company hosts an annual charity golf tournament for area non-profits and families, and it regularly donates items for fundraisers. A current company project is an on-going food drive to benefit the Vail Valley Salvation Army.
