Burlington, Wash., April 16, 2010. It was quite the combined effort on Friday, April 9, when six groups – members of the Oregon chapter of the Carpet Cleaners Institute Northwest (CCINW), Cleaners Supply Warehouse Clackamus, Cleaning Restoration Supply Portland, Jon-Don Portland, Dri-Eaz and Sapphire Scientific –  donated their time, cleaning expertise and products to help clean carpets and upholstery at two Ronald McDonald Houses in the Portland area.

One facility is affiliated with the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and the other, Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel. Ronald McDonald Houses provide accommodations and services to families of seriously ill children receiving hospital care.

Brian Desemple from Cleaners Supply Warehouse in Clackamas, Ore., organized the OHSU Ronald McDonald House effort with a total of 4 trucks and 6 people cleaning. Lyle Neville from Western Carpet Cleaners organized the Legacy Emanuel cleaning with 7 trucks and 13 people.  Dri-Eaz and Sapphire Scientific donated a vehicle with a truckmount, two professionals and chemicals - including a gallon of cleaning products and traffic lane cleaner for every CCINW member that participated in the event! They even hosted a pizza lunch for all the volunteers.

CCINW’s Oregon members have supported the Ronald McDonald charities for the past 10 years. “We think it’s important to give back to the community, and this is such a worthy cause. These families deserve a clean and comfortable place to stay, so we come back every year. It’s very rewarding to help, and it’s great when cleaners, distributors and manufacturers can all work together to benefit families during their time of need. We thank everyone who supported the effort,” said Brian.

The volunteers who participated include: Lyle Neville of Western Carpet Cleaners; Steve Morris of Lake Oswego Carpet Cleaning; Dennis Jossi and Chris Kimpton of AAA Action Fast Service; Raymond Mott of Mott's Carpet Cleaning; Darcella Lawson and Frank Wozad of Quick & Clean Services; Dan Joner, Madison and Sophie of Country Road Carpet Cleaning;Tom Karel of ServiceMaster Clean of Portland; Jeff Hagen of Jon-Don Portland; Tim Hernandez of Cleaning & Restoration Supply Portland; Angie Shamoon of Wand Wizards Carpet Cleaning; Gary Litzenberg of All Bright Carpet Care; Brian Desemple of Cleaners Supply Warehouse Clackamas; Kami Allen of Dri-Eaz/Legend Brands; Brendan Kimmel of Dri-Eaz/Legend Brands.
