NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Tom Cline, a business consultant, trainer, and adjunct professor whose professional career focused on sales, marketing, and operations has been appointed Business Development Specialist at Violand Management Associates (VMA), a business-management teaching, training, and consulting company.

Chuck Violand, owner of Violand Management Associates says, “As VMA has grown, we have been extremely fortunate to attract talented consultants with the wealth of experience Tom brings to the table. Tom’s broad range of understanding in both advising and working within companies ranging in size from $2M to $2.6B gives him unique insight into the workings of our client companies”.

Most recently, Cline was Regional Program Coordinator for MAGNET, a non-profit organization where he provided consulting services to manufacturers with less than 100 employees. In addition, Cline has been an Adjunct Professor for Stark State College teaching courses in Management, Marketing and Supervision.

Prior to consulting and teaching, Cline spent 5 years as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Millwood Incorporated, a recognized leader in pallets, containers and unit load solutions with 750 employees and $70 million in annual revenues. This followed a 25 year career with The Timken Company, a $2.6B global producer of antifriction bearings and alloy steel, capped off as General Manager of Global Distribution Logistics. Cline’s educational degrees include a BA in Economics & Mathematics from Denison University and a master’s degree in Operations & Finance from the University of Pittsburgh.
