Chris Hickey never planned to leave the Broomfield Police Department to run his carpet cleaning business. It was just a twist of fate, or maybe part of his family`s destiny.

Hickey, 38, was a Broomfield motorcycle officer until he left the force in April, after 10 years, because of injuries sustained in the line of duty.

Fortunately, he had a job on the side on which to fall back. Hickey started Code Blue Carpet Cleaning years ago as a way to make a few bucks on weekends, but now it is his livelihood. From the Daily Camera.
