IAQA Installs New Directors and Officers

ROCKVILLE, MD – June 17, 2008 – The Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA) installed newly elected directors and officers at its 11th Annual Meeting & Exposition held last week in Tampa, Florida.

Each year, IAQA members elect three directors to serve three-year terms of service on the association’s board.  Newly elected directors include Kent Rawhouser, WLS, CMRS (A&J Specialty Services, Inc., De Forest, WI) and Derrick Denis, CIEC, CIAQP (Clark Seif Clark, Inc., Tempe, AZ).  Re-elected to serve a second term as director was Andrew C. Äsk, P.E. (Andrew C. Äsk, P.E., Consulting Engineer, Cape Coral, FL).

IAQA officers are elected by the board of directors for one-year terms.  Äsk was elected IAQA president.  Mr. Carl Grimes, CIEC (Healthy Habitats LLC, Denver, CO) was elected IAQA first vice president.  Elected to IAQA’s two vice-president positions were Ian Cull, P.E., CIEC, CMC(Indoor Sciences, Inc., Chicago, IL) and Joseph Hughes, Jr., CIEC, CMRS (IAQ Training Institute,Central City, PA). Wane A. Baker, P.E., CIH (Michaels Engineering, La Crosse, WI) was elected IAQA treasurer and Glenn Fellman (Indoor Environment Communications, Rockville, MD) was elected IAQA secretary.

Director and officer election results were announced at the IAQA General Membership Meeting held June 13 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, Florida.  IAQA also paid tribute to outgoing directors Larry Hartman, CIEC (Washington Mutual, Irvine, CA) and Thomas Yacobellis, CIEC, CMRS, ASCS (DUCTZ Air Duct Cleaning, Dunedin, FL).  Special appreciation was also expressed to outgoing IAQA President Thomas Yacobellis, who remains an ex-officio member of the IAQA board as immediate past president.
