Restoration Consultants’ Jim Holland gave a presentation on “Bacterial Amplification from In-Place Carpet Drying” to 20-plus professionals from the Professional Carpet & Upholstery Cleaners Association at ADCO Pro Cleaning Supply in Denver on Wednesday, July 9.

Holland reviewed a new pilot study conducted by RestCon to determine whether in-place carpet drying results in bacterial amplification and an appropriate response time to a Category 1 water intrusion in a residence. The findings of the study suggested that much more research on the topic is necessary before making any conclusions.
