The revamped program will include a new code of ethics, standardized procedures for addressing Certified Firm complaints, a new application process and larger participation. In addition, an increased level of policing will ensure compliance with the higher standards.
“The IICRC wants the best firms the industry has to offer to be part of this program,” said Chairman Peter Masi. “Companies that want to remain certified will be required to meet the new standards.”
The changes proposed by the committee were submitted to the IICRC Executive Committee for review at its August 6, 2000 meeting and are expected to be on the agenda of the fall Board of Directors meeting in October.
