Cleaning & Restoration Industry News

An inspiring and motivational chapter ended at the close of 2006, and another began with your new PCUCA board in place. A very special thank you is in order to Jim Miller, outgoing PCUCA president. Jim served our organization well. With his leadership skills, our organization benefited tremendously with him at the helm. Jim exemplifies honesty and integrity, and has proven to be a dynamic leader as well as a respected businessman.

The year will bring many new challenges to our organization as well as new opportunities to the cleaning and restoration professional who provides leadership and to those who desire and have the courage to become leaders in their respective fields. Let us extend a hand of gratitude to the many quiet soldiers who volunteer countless of hours on boards and in meeting rooms for the betterment of our industry. Thanks to the many IICRC volunteers across the country who invest countless hours of their own time writing, editing and searching for the right answer to the many questions which must be answered, all while raising the standards of our industry. These quiet soldiers are unpaid volunteers, spending their own time and money traveling to meet the demands of an industry that has taken the stance to police itself and raise its own bar ahead of government and bureaucratic regulations.

A sincere thank you to our valued suppliers in Colorado as well as those across our wonderful nation who have fused with the many cleaners and restoration firms to provide topnotch cleaning agents for the consumer. Thank you to the many educators in our field. They not only inspire and motivate, they introduce new trends and new sciences to an ever-changing industry.

As your new PCUCA president, I welcome each of you to get involved in your respective field. Take the challenge to become the very best that you can be. If you do business in the western United States, we want to hear from you. Where are you, New Mexico, Kansas, Montana, North and South Dakota, Idaho, Wyoming Nebraska, Oklahoma, Utah and Iowa? We need subchapters in your states. Recently we have interacted with firms in Nebraska and Kansas; we need to hear from the rest of you. With modern technology, you have become a very close neighbor. Please use the professional organization in your part of the country. We are an e-mail and phone call away. Your PCUCA board is here to serve you, as are the other professional organizations in your area. Together we can move mountains.

At your service, Larry Trujillo, your 2007 PCUCA president.
