SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- Bell Janitorial Supply, a distributor with locations in Salt Lake City and Ogden, Utah, opened its new headquarters facility in Salt Lake on July 2.
“Success has required us to expand our showroom, training, warehouse, and equipment areas,” said Michael Tanner, CEO of Bell Janitorial. He continued, “Our new location will allow us to serve our customers more efficiently because we will have a big new showroom, an expanded area for machine service, rentals, and demonstrations, and an on-site training center. Our parking lot is spacious, and the location is conveniently located and easy to access.”
Bell’s new 20,000-square foot facility is located at 4464 West 2100 South, near the junction of the 201 Freeway and Bangerter Highway in Salt Lake City.
The new building is four times larger than Bell’s former Salt Lake location, with a number of features that will make warehousing and delivery functions more efficient. Ogden area customers will continue to be served from the Bell facility in Ogden.
The late George Bell and his wife June founded Bell Janitorial in 1964. The company has 24 employees and serves northern Utah and southern Idaho.
“George Bell started over 30 years ago by cleaning big coal furnaces with a truck-mounted vacuum. He then got into carpet cleaning, and that led him into the chemical distribution business,” said Tanner. “I joined him in 1991, and we worked together to build the business. This year, it took us less than a month to do the same amount of business we did in all of 1991.”
Tanner and the late Mr. Bell purchased a competitor’s business in Salt Lake City in 2001, and the Bells’ son Daren, currently the company’s vice president, joined the company at that time.
