RIA Hosts Meeting to Open Industry Dialogue

The Restoration Industry Association hosted a one-day meeting of prominent industry individuals in Baltimore, Md., on July 24 in an effort to create an open dialogue for the betterment and advancement of the cleaning, restoration and remediation industry.

The meeting was held at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel near BWI airport. Charles Rumbarger, CAE, a prominent association industry executive based in Potomac, Md., was retained by the RIA to facilitate the meeting discussion and assist the group in developing a Heads of Agreement (HOA). An HOA is a non-binding document used to outline key issues and relative meeting points normally serving as a precursor to the development of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

“It was an enlightening and energizing discussion that brought out many of the opportunities and challenges facing both the industry and associations in serving their constituents,” RIA Executive Director Don Manger said.
