The Meetings and Events team really outdid themselves at the Connection Event in Las Vegas this year. With the all-new setup for the flood house and hands-on area, separating it from the trade show worked well with more room and less confusion. Our hats are off to Larry Cooper and team – great job.

 

It was a very successful Connections for SCRT, as we picked up several new members (you can see them on the website or Facebook.) It was great to see all of the SCRT people that stopped by the booth. The best part of these conventions is seeing old friends and also the new ones you make, as well as the networking that always happens.

 

If you missed Connections, you missed a great member’s reception put on again by SCRT administrator Debbie Glenn. She certainly knows how to throw a party. Lisa Jordan won $100 in the drawing this year at the reception. Ironically, earlier in the day when Connections held a drawing for a three-night stay at the LVH Hotel and Casino, Lisa’s husband’s (Ken) name was drawn. Guess what - he wasn’t present to win.

 

So what will happen now that Connections Board of Directors has chosen to disband and there will not be any more Connections events? Not to worry, your new trade association ICRA (International Cleaning and Restoration Association) will pick up the ball and run with it along with Textile Consultants. Unfamiliar with Textile Consultants? They’re the same people that have been running Connections, this is just another one of their companies. We will be back in full strength at Clearwater Beach, FL from April 18-20, 2013, and also at the LVH in Las Vegas next fall. The only difference is that these shows will be bigger and better than what you have seen in the past.
