The Central Coast Chapter had a meeting on February 12 at Advanced Leather Solutions in Hayward, CA. The topic of the night was leather repair, coloring and cleaning. Kevin and Yvonne Gillan opened up their facility to more than 30 CFI members and non-members that came to learn about leather. Kevin gave a brief discussion on the different leathers and problems. Andrea Gonzati, Fenice Leather Care Systems, came all the way from Italy to demonstrate his system of leather repairs. Andrea demonstrated the different cleaning methods of leather, how to repair burn holes, tears, scratches, remove ink and how to do a patch repair with color matching. Jason Murray did a great demonstration color repairing a cushion from a customer that tried to clean an area and changed the color.
Everyone had a lot of questions and the crew at Advanced Leather Solutions had all the answers. Thank you to Kevin, Yvonne, Jason and Josh for the great food and drink we all enjoyed and for hosting the event.
The Northern California Chapter will have a meeting at Proline Supply in Sacramento on April 9. The topic of the night will be “Secrets of Successful Urine Decontamination” with Aaron Groseclose. The meeting is from 5 p.m. to 8p.m. This meeting is open to all CFI member and non-members.
