|About 20 CFI members and non-members attended the annual Carpet Mill Tour|
The CFI held its annual Carpet Mill Tour at the Royalty Carpet Mill on March 14 in Santa Ana, CA. Over 20 CFI members and non-members got a rare tour with Technical Director Jim Hernandez, who took everyone through the whole process of how carpet is made starting with the raw yarn, then the tufting process, dying, applying stain protector and, finally, the finishing process. Jim then took everyone to the quality control lab where the carpet is put through many tests to insure its quality. It was a very interesting and informative tour and Jim answered everyone’s questions ranging construction to manufacturer warranty requirements on cleaning and maintenance. We would like to thank Jim and his crew for taking the time to give everyone the tour.
The Northern California Chapter held a meeting April 9 at Proline Supply in Sacramento. Aaron Groseclose was the guest speaker, and discussed the secrets of successful urine decontamination. Aaron talked about topical treatment vs. restoration, oxidizers vs. enzymes and many more things about successful urine removal. Thank you to Aaron for taking the time to speak to everyone.
The San Diego Chapter held a plant tour meeting at Mytee Products on May 9 in Poway, CA. President John Laberbra took everyone through his facility, showing attendees how the machines are made. He also talked about machine maintenance and technological advances in the equipment today. After the tour, Chapter Director Lisa Wagner held a Marketing Consulting Workshop. We would like to thank John and his crew for hosting this event.
