Hence, for the 11th consecutive year, ICS Cleaning Specialist is happy to provide you with a look at some of the latest equipment to have entered the industry.
Just to be clear, this isn’t some sort of “Best of the Best” list, but a look at some of the latest technologies available in today’s marketplace. So with that being said, here’s a look at some of the latest developments in cleaning and restoration as we head into 2014.
The RX-15 Rotary Hard Surface Tool (HydraMaster)
HydraMaster’s (hydramaster.com) RX-15H allows for fast and easy cleaning of tile, stone and concrete floors. The self-contained rotary washer and extractor is driven by water pressure to agitate, wash and rinse surfaces, all while immediately recovering soil and water. The RX-15H works best when combined with a truckmount or high-pressure portable extractor and cleans more efficiently than automatic scrubbers. It offers a 15-inch cleaning path, allowing for up to 30% faster cleaning compared to those with conventional 10-12-inch cleaning paths.
RFID Tracking (Invisi-Tag)
Take inventory within minutes and never worry about leaving a piece of equipment behind on a job site again. That’s the value of Invisi-Tag’s (invisi-tag.com) RFID tracking software, helping cleaning and restoration professionals save both time and money. Invisi-Tag’s RFID technology integrates with mobile technology to give users the information they want to know right at their fingertips, allowing them to account for all their equipment within seconds.
Micro Protection System (BactiBarrier)
BactiBarrier (bactibarrier.com) antimicrobial products are used to clean and protect the indoor and outdoor environments we live in. Its Micro Protection System is a 2-step, EPA-registered microbial disinfectant and protector that can be used to create long-term protection on high-contact surfaces such as doors, knobs, chairs, phones, exercise equipment and other surfaces where the spread of germs is a concern.
Remote Field Commander (Interlink Supply)
In a coffee shop? Spending time at home with your family? With a customer? No matter where you are, the Remote Field Commander (remotefieldcommander.com) allows restoration professionals to monitor their jobs remotely, giving them peace of mind while permitting them to work on other things.
Velo Airmover (Dri-Eaz)
It’s sleek, features a low power draw and offers multi-position versatility. Dri-Eaz’s (drieaz.com) Velo arimover draws only 1.9 amps (use up to six units per 15 amp circuit), or about half of what other airmovers draw, and features a slim, 21-pound design that’s half the height of most dryers, allowing restorers to fit more onto their truck. It’s made of rotomolded polyethylene and injection molded ABS housing and able to lift four times the weight of the unit up to 5,000 times without failure.
IAQ 7000 Air Scrubber (Viking)
Viking’s (vikingairmovers.com) IAQ 7000 air scrubber draws only two amps and delivers over 700 cfm. There are two models to choose from, both of which allow filter change without tools. It’s also available with a two-speed rocker switch unit.
360XL Rotary Jet Extractor (Rotovac)
Rotovac (rotovac.com) has introduced the 360XL Rotary Jet Extractor, which offers a 15-inch cleaning head and is designed to perform better, weigh less and provide more ease of use than other models. Engineered by Cliff Monson, it also features a telescoping handle and multiple cleaning head options.
The Ultimate Drying Station (B-Air)
Today’s restoration contractor needs a lot of equipment. B-Air’s (b-air.com) Ultimate Drying Station is designed to help provide this. The drying station trailer is able to hold over 100 pieces of equipment and also features a 32-inch side door, a treadplate floor and ramp door and rear stabilizer jacks, among other features. The station is custom built and wrapped with your company’s logo and design.
The Clear Jet 100 System (Clear Jet)
Tired of having to clean jets on the job? Clear Jet (clearjet100.com) uses a 120-micron stainless steel reusable filter, which picks up sediment and anything else that has passed by the filtering system on the machine. The Clear Jet 100 filter snaps on at the end of the pressure line, before the tool. It can be easily removed to rinse and will save you time and money, reduce pulsation and extend the life of your jets.
MR77 Moisture Meter (FLIR)
FLIR Systems (flir.com) has introduced the MR77 moisture meter, a rugged, feature-rich unit specifically designed to tackle critical projects in the restoration and remediation industries. Using a pinless sensor, the MR77 measures moisture content in a variety of surfaces up to 0.75-in. below material surfaces. It also features a field-replaceable temperature and humidity sensor, a non-contact, laser-spot IR thermometer, Bluetooth connectivity and the ability to transmit data to certain FLIR thermal imaging cameras.
