SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- A week after the devastating terrorist attack on the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York City, ABM Industries Inc. (NYSE:ABM) said it remains unclear precisely how many of its employees are among those missing at that location.

The World Trade Center was the company's largest single job site, with upwards of 800 operating engineers, janitorial workers and lighting technicians from three subsidiaries of the company working on various shifts throughout the day and night.

The company's current estimate is far fewer than previously feared. ABM said it believes that two of its operating engineers, one structural engineer, two window cleaners and 12 janitorial workers are "confirmed missing,'" which means that they were known to have been in the facility at the time of the attack, but have not been seen or located since.

In response to the tragedy, the company has established The ABM Family Fund Trust to benefit the families of fatally injured employees. In addition to its own contribution, ABM has invited all of its stockholders, directors, officers, management, staff, service workers, customers, suppliers and other friends of the company to participate.

Contributions can be made by check payable and sent to: The ABM Family Fund Trust, Rincon Annex Box 193224, San Francisco, CA 94119.

ABM provides air conditioning, elevator, engineering, janitorial, lighting, parking and security services at thousands of commercial, industrial, institutional and retail facilities in hundreds of cities across North America.
