San Francisco (Business Wire) -- American Sanitary Inc., a privately owned distributor of building maintenance supplies and equipment headquartered in Cary, N.C., has signed a letter of intent to acquire Easterday Janitorial Supply Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary of ABM Industries Inc. Easterday's revenues exceed $40 million per year, including intercompany sales to other subsidiaries of ABM.

With the addition of Easterday's statewide capabilities in California and offices in Nevada, Oregon, Texas and Washington, AmSan will own and operate a coast-to-coast and border-to-border janitorial product distribution network with over 60 branches serving customers in more than 30 states. In conjunction with AmSan's acquisition of Easterday, AmSan will be named a preferred provider of janitorial supplies and equipment to American Building Maintenance, the nationwide janitorial service subsidiary of ABM.

ABM Industries Inc. is the largest facility services contractor listed on the New York Stock Exchange. With annualized sales in excess of $1.8 billion and more than 60,000 employees, ABM provides air conditioning, elevator, engineering, janitorial, lighting, parking, security and related services to thousands of commercial, industrial and institutional customers in hundreds of cities across North America.
