ASCR annual meeting aims to create advantages

The annual meeting for the Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration will be held at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo., March 10-13. More than 750 business owners, managers, technicians, exhibitors and others are expected to participate in "Solutions - the Education Summit."

"The greatest value ASCR can give its members is to help them become more competitive in the marketplace," said Tim Horrigan, ASCR president. "We've designed this convention to provide educational opportunities that will help them be better business managers and keep them abreast of the latest technology advances in cleaning and restoration sciences."

Convention goers will have access to experts who will share their knowledge on various subjects, including the care and restoration of leather furniture; microbial remediation in HVAC systems; the use of microscopy and microanalysis to assess fire residues; and more.

One of the many highlights of the convention will be the auction to benefit Ronald McDonald Houses. The ASCR recently announced a program pairing its members, who will donate their services, with their local Ronald McDonald Houses. More than a dozen members are currently participating, and almost 50 more have volunteered to take part, according to the ASCR.
