“We selected Ronald McDonald Houses as our charity because they are in the shelter industry and so are we,” said Tim Horrigan, president of ASCR. “Our members feel strongly that the industry should give back to society and I hope we’ll be able to support Ronald McDonald Houses as long as we have the tournament. It’s more fun to play golf when you know you’re helping others at the same time.”
Approximately 50 golfers took part in the one-day ASCR tournament, held in Savannah, Georgia in conjunction with the Association’s annual meeting. Ten past ASCR presidents, 20 corporate sponsors, and several others provided financial support to the event, which Horrigan said helped immeasurably in raising money for the Ronald McDonald House.
Plans are currently underway for the 2004 ASCR golf tournament. The tournament, and the Association’s annual meeting, will be held at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado March 9-13, 2004.
