Millersville, Md. -- The ASCR has hired Jody Sasthav, Ph.D., M.B.A., as the association's technical director, serving ASCR members worldwide. In her new position, Sasthav will oversee the lab facility, as well as the testing of new products, researching new protocols and assisting members with solving a variety of problems related to the staining, discoloration, fire and smoke damage, disintegration and contamination of materials encountered in the cleaning and restoration process.

Most recently, Sasthav taught undergraduate science courses at six different institutions, critiqued science books for Choice Magazine and managed different long- and short-term product development projects. Sasthav holds a doctorate in polymer science and a bachelor of science in chemistry. Previously a scientist with the Lord Corp. in Erie, Pa., she’s served as an adjunct faculty member at George Mason University, the College of Notre Dame, Morgan State University, Hood College, Howard Community College and Gannon University.
