Bloomington, IN – January 24, 2010 - Stephen Ashkin, president of the Ashkin Group and Sustainable Tool, LLC, reminds jansan industry professionals that the deadline for submitting comments regarding the new Version 3 LEED-EBOM (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design-Existing Buildings Operations and Maintenance) guidelines is fast approaching.

The Ashkin Group was selected last year to work with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) on the project.

According to Ashkin, all comments must be received no later than January 30. “This is our last chance to make our thoughts known about the new LEED-EB cleaning standards,” he says.

For about two months, the Ashkin Group has been gathering comments directly from the cleaning industry about LEED-EBOM and its impact on Green Cleaning.

Comments will be provided to LEED Technical Advisory Groups (TAGs) for consideration as they develop the prerequisites for the 2012 standards.

“Because this process is so important, we have [developed] a special web site for collecting comments from industry professionals,” adds Ashkin. “The site is located at This is very important for our industry, and we appreciate all of those [who] have already taken the time to become involved with this process.”
