MoreBLOOMINGTON, IN – The Ashkin Group, LLC, an internationally recognized consultant firm leading the effort to “green” the cleaning industry, has presented Adobe Systems and its property management firm, Cushman & Wakefield, with the Green Cleaning Champion Award.
The award is The Ashkin Group’s highest honor and on this occasion it acknowledged the unprecedented green building and Green Cleaning achievements of both organizations.
During 2006, Adobe Systems cemented its status as a pioneer in green building by becoming the first company in the country to earn triple platinum Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification-the highest rating awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council-for its three headquarter buildings in San Jose, California.
"Adobe Systems, in partnership with Cushman & Wakefield, the third largest property management firm in the world managing over 5,000 buildings around the globe, has made a very significant impact on the greening of our industry," said Ashkin. During a special event on December 4th at Adobe headquarters in San Jose, Calif., Stephen Ashkin, president of The Ashkin Group personally presented the Green Cleaning Champion plaques to Bruce Chizen, Adobe CEO and Jim Arce, senior managing director of Cushman & Wakefield. Awards also were given to Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO and founding chairman of U.S. Green Building Council, George Denise, the property manager at Adobe for Cushman & Wakefield, and Bruce Schilling, president of August Supply the janitorial supplier to Adobe and Cushman & Wakefield. Also pictured are members of the US Green Building Council’s LEED for Existing Buildings Steering Committee members Stu Carron of JohnsonDiversey and Michael Arny of the Leonardo Academy who were present at the event.
