Your clients are online. Many of them search the Internet to find a cleaning company instead of picking up the old Yellow Pages. Blogging is an important way to make sure it’s your company they connect with.

The Internet is the New Yellow Pages

What does this have to do with blogs? Google absolutely loves blogs, forums, and anything else with constantly updated information. The reason behind this is because Google won't stay the top dog in search engines if they don't keep current information.

When you search Google, you're looking for the latest information on the keywords you've typed, right? That's why Google is always looking for fresh, new content. And they know blogs are one of the best ways to get this fresh content. Google is constantly checking content on blogs with their little search engine robots.

Blogs allow you to quickly and easily put information out on the web. You can easily add articles, reviews, photos, and videos. And the beautiful thing is, you do not need a webmaster to add the content. Of course you may need a webmaster to set the blog up properly. But after this, it's easy Internet marketing.

Has your webmaster ever ignored your phone calls? Does it take weeks to make any changes on your website? With a blog, it's easy and instant.

I suggest you have at least two Web sites. One should be an informative Web site that gives all the information about you company and sells your service. The second should be a blog. Of course, you can combine the two and have a website with a blog attached to it.

Blogs are super cheap. I recommend you go with a hosting company like Hostgator that has a CPanel system. The CPanel makes setting up a Wordpress blog easy. Then if you'd like to customize your blog and add your logo or custom header, contact your webmaster.

There are websites now in the cleaning industry that are themed-based. The cool thing is the site doesn't look like a blog. It looks like a regular website. But even better, Google loves indexing the content. Plus, it's easy to add content and make changes yourself.

How to Get the Most Benefit from Blogging

You'll get the most benefit from blogging if your blog is on your actual website. In other words, it won't benefit you as much if the blog is created on blogger or another blog website. You need a blog installed on your site.

Blog at least once every two weeks-once every week is ideal. Mention your latest promotions and specials. Talk about what's going on in your company or your community. Tell stories about a unique job you just finished. Show videos of your techs on the job. Just be real. That's what blogging is all about.

It's really that easy. And if the thought of writing something once every other week frightens you, have your office assistant do it.

You really can't go wrong here unless you don't blog. It won't hurt, I promise.
