Among entomologists, there is a consensus as to what insect
is the most disliked. It’s the carpet beetle.
Entomologists aren’t the only people who have problems with these creatures. Most homeowners have experienced damage caused by carpet beetles, at least to some extent. Carpet beetles eat dried materials of animal origin that we commonly use for clothing, decoration, food and upholstery like silk and wool as well as feathers, dried meats and carcasses. Curtains, clothes, furs, upholstery, felt and, yes, carpets can be severely damaged by dermestiids. They’ll even consume accumulations of shed pet hair. From The SunHerald.
