Los Angeles Chapter Director Vince Attardo reports the next meeting will be Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010 from 5-9 pm, featuring CFI President Matt Sanders of Ecostar Inc. Matt will be presenting “Advanced Containment Fabrication and Installation” and will discuss constructing containments that last without damaging clients’ paint, the proper use of AFD’S for positive and negative pressure, systems to run a successful remediation business and more. On Tuesday, Jan. 26, the Los Angeles Chapter and Inland/Orange Chapters will join with the LMCCA to sponsor a carpet mill tour of Royalty Carpet Mills in Irvine. The tour will be conducted by Royalty Technical and Claims Manager Jim Hernandez and his staff, who have always been wonderful supporters of the CFI. Call 800-CARPET-9 to register.

Central Coast Director Rick Lewis wants to remind everyone that “The Cleaners Coffee Club” meetings in San Carlos and Sacramento are a great place to meet and network with other cleaning professionals. The meetings are sponsored by CFI and ProLine University of Cleaning & Restoration, courtesy of CFI past president Steve Kaufman. For further information call Rick at (650) 766-5630.

Northern California Chapter Director Matt Cole reports that on Jan. 20 there will be a free, one-day “Advanced Containment Design and Construction” class presented by Matt Sanders. There will be an IICRC-approved Leather Cleaning Technician (LCT) course with instructor Pamela Villagomez in San Mateo, Jan 26-27. The LCT course will help you understand the importance of leather identification and proper cleaning methods and products. Arizona Chapter Director Norma McCormick announces the chapter will be hosting the CFI Survival Camp in spring 2010. “Taking a Swing at Social Media!” will be held in Scottsdale. Be sure to watch for further information. If you’re not “social” and want to be - you don’t want to miss this.

San Diego Chapter Director Gabe Matthews says the recent tour of K. Blatchford’s San Diego Rug Cleaning Company was a great learning experience. Thanks to CFI past president and Piranha Marketing CEO Lisa Wagner (www.JoePolish.com), who conducted the tour and provided all with a vast amount of very important knowledge.
