The Cleaning Industry Research Institute International (CIRI) is
pleased to announce that Meetings & Events, LLC, of Arvada, Colorado, will
be managing its upcoming Interactive Science Symposium-The Future of Clean and the Future of Green: Are They Mutually
Supportive or Mutually Exclusive?-to be held at the Georgia Institute of
Technology Conference Center in Atlanta, Feb. 9-11, 2011.
"This is the second time we've worked with Larry Cooper and Meetings and Events (M & E)," reports Jim Harris, Sr., CIRI chairman. "Larry's diversified background, experience and leadership in various aspects of the cleaning industry makes his organization a perfect choice to handle this event.
"This type of symposium is an important, groundbreaking project for CIRI. There is a lot of confusion surrounding the topic of green cleaning so we anticipate considerable discussion among industry leaders as we try to reach some bona fide conclusions. The first program will focus on cleaning efficacy, health and hygiene implications accruing or absent from green cleaning and the green movement. The interactive format will allow attendees to get involved through discussion and debate. Experts representing both sides also will be participating."
Dr. Steven Spivak, CIRI's Science Advisory Council chairman, recommended the Delphi Method. "Simply put, using this structured communication technique will allow CIRI to utilize panels of experts, who will state their views, followed by breakout sessions for the participants. Two industry surveys will have been completed and the results used to sharpen the focus of the panels. Data gathered from the breakout sessions will provide a summary of participant responses. Participants are encouraged to revise their earlier comments. During the process the range of views will narrow as the group moves to a more enlightened position on the future of clean and green.”
