"Our past symposia were presentation oriented. Using a new, interactive format, this time attendees can get involved through discussion and debate. The first program will focus on cleaning for health and hygiene, green cleaning and the green movement. Experts on both sides of this issue will be selected to participate," explains Jim Harris, Sr., CIRI chairman. "Attendees from all segments of the cleaning industry can obtain a wealth of information whether it is service or product oriented."
Harris also noted that Meetings & Events (M & E), LLC of Arvada, Colorado-a full service event management company-will be organizing and overseeing the event. "This is the second time we have worked with Larry Cooper and M & E and we are happy to have this industry forerunner on board again. Larry's diversified background, experience and leadership in various aspects of the cleaning industry-particularly his biannual Connections Conference and Exhibition-make him a perfect choice to handle this event."
A half-day, pre-seminar tour of Air Quality Services' (AQS) newly expanded laboratories is planned for 1 p.m. on Feb. 9. Founded in 1989, AQS is a highly respected name in indoor air quality testing; building studies and consulting; and product and building certification plan development. The company recently added 15 small chambers to its facility, allowing it to tailor product evaluations with rapid turnover for small-scale materials, such as paints and textiles. AQS CEO, Dr. Marilyn Black, is a science advisory counselor to CIRI.
CIRI researches and analyzes critical industry issues based on definitive laboratory and field studies and the opinions of industry experts. "Our motto is 'Only Science Can See,'" Dr. Steven Spivak, CIRI's Science Advisory Council Chair, emphasizes. "To that end, CIRI fulfills a unique, unbiased role that depends on good science and study to provide reliable information to the public and the cleaning industry."
Prior to the symposium, two industry surveys will have developed more topical information. The results will influence the program's focus. Anyone wishing to participate in the survey should contact CIRI at email@example.com.
