CPChem Revamps Website; agrees to feasibility study

Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP unveiled a new look for its Internet site,, with expanded links to 15 product line web sites.

HOUSTON, Texas -- Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP (CPChem), Houston, unveiled a new look for its Internet site,, with expanded links to 15 product line web sites, which include product lists as well as some product application information. For certain product lines, MSDSs and Technical Data Sheets also will be accessible online.

According to Joni Johnson, CPChem eBusiness manger, "We've been working to gather information from the multiple product lines that make up CPChem. Previously, some of the products had web sites, while others didn't. Our intent was to develop a uniform way to present our product line and company information for our customers."

In other news
CPChem and Pequiven, a subsidiary of PDVSA, agreed to conduct a feasibility study to evaluate the construction of a styrene monomer plant in Paraguana, Venezuela.

Styrene is an aromatic monomer used to produce a wide variety of polymers with diverse end, including carpeting and construction materials. The feasibility study will be completed by year-end with startup of the plant potentially slated for 2007.
