CRI announces promotions

CRI president Werner Braun,has announced the promotion of two CRI employees, which follow his ongoing realignment of staff duties to bring further value to the services provided to CRI members.

DALTON, GA--Werner Braun, president of the Carpet and Rug Institute(CRI), announced the promotion of two CRI employees, which follow his ongoing realignment of staff duties to bring further value to the services provided to CRI members.

Peggy Parks has been promoted to director, office of the president. Her responsibilities include prioritizing and managing activities in the Office of the President and tracking progress of the projects and programs approved by CRI's Executive Committee and Board of Directors.

"Peggy is a real asset to CRI. Those of you who know Peggy would agree that she always gives more than 100 percent to any project she takes on her plate," Braun said. "CRI is very honored to have such a valuable employee, and I take great pleasure in promoting her to the position of director."

During her twenty-nine year tenure with CRI, Parks has served in numerous capacities, including maintenance of CRI's Trade Name Directory for several years; administrative assistant to the CRI Consumer Action Panel until it was disbanded; administrative assistant in the technical services and consumer affairs areas; assistant to the editor in the preparation of all CRI publications; assistant to the Floor Covering Installation Contractors Association; assistant to the Floor Covering Installation Board; executive assistant to three CRI Presidents; office manager; and miscellaneous other job duties.

Joyce Schuler has been promoted to coordination specialist. Added to her duties are responsibility for coordinating meeting activities for CRI's committees as well as CRI's annual business meeting and meetings of CRI's members on the west coast.

"Joyce is one of the most enthusiastic people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing," said Braun. "With her high energy level and outgoing personality, I know she will excel in her new position."

During her twelve-year tenure at CRI, Schuler has served as CRI's receptionist, switchboard operator, and assistant to the office manager. She has also had responsibility for the scheduling and catering of CRI committee meetings.

The Dalton, Ga.-based Carpet and Rug Institute (www.carpet-rug.com) is the national trade association representing the carpet and rug industry. Its membership consists of manufacturers representing 94 percent of all carpet produced in the U.S., and suppliers of raw materials and services to the industry. There is continued coordination with other segments of the industry, such as distributors, retailers, and installers.
