CRI announces promotions, releases sustainability report

CRI announces promotions, releases sustainability report

Carpet and Rug Institute President Werner Braun recently announced that Ken McIntosh has been named senior director of technical services for the CRI. McIntosh had been employed as director of technical services. He joined the CRI in 1986.

Braun also announced the promotion of Joan Seelaus from senior communications manager to director of communications. Seelaus came to the CRI in August 2001 after a six-year stint at a Washington, D.C.-based strategic communications consulting firm.

In other news, the CRI has posted the carpet industry 2002 Sustainability Report on its Web site at The 23-page document highlights the carpet industry's efforts in all three areas of sustainability: environmental, social and economic.

"Ours is a very competitive industry, yet it never ceases to amaze me the amount of unity and common ground on which our industry stands when it comes to that journey toward a sustainable world," Braun said.
