BURLINGTON, Washington - July 21, 2005 - Dri-Eaz officially named the education center in Nashville, Tenn., the James C. Myers Education Center in honor of Jim's steadfast commitment to advancing education within the restoration industry. Bill Bruders, President of Dri-Eaz, made the announcement at the company's 2005 Restoration Drying Symposium in Orlando, Fla., following a heartfelt tribute to his former friend and colleague. "Jim was a champion of restoration education, and was the driving force behind the creation of the Nashville facility. Naming this education center after him is a lasting way to honor him, and say thank you for his significant contributions to Dri-Eaz and the industry."

Jim Myers passed away on May 4, 2005, due to complications from colon cancer. Jim served in a number of roles during his 10 years at Dri-Eaz, most recently as Education and Product Development Manager. He was a certified IICRC WRT and ASD instructor, and also contributed his leadership on many water damage restoration industry committees.

Jim joined the restoration community in 1986 as the owner/operator of his own carpet cleaning and restorative drying business in western Washington. He preferred the restoration side of the business, and in 1994 decided to sell his firm to join the team at Dri-Eaz to specialize in restorative drying equipment and education.

In the last five years, Jim dedicated himself to improving the quality of restoration education in the United States and around the world. Through his education activities, many restoration professionals had the opportunity to work with Jim and benefit from his experience, wisdom, and infectious devotion to providing the highest level of restorative drying education.
