GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -- A vehicle fire in the parking lot of Powerhouse Gym caused about $65,000 in damage, authorities said.
The fire started about 1:46 p.m. Saturday in a carpet cleaning van parked in back of the building, according to the Grand Junction Fire Department. The blaze then spread to the exterior of the building located at 2460 Patterson Road.
While the fire did not penetrate the building smoke did get inside the structure, which led firefighters to evacuate the gym as a “precautionary measure,” said Battalion Chief Duncan Brown. Want the whole story?
