VANCOUVER, Wash.—The Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) Board of Directors recently approved three new certification categories. The new categories are Ceramic Tile Inspector (CTI), Wood/Laminate Flooring Inspector (WFI) and Resilient Flooring Inspector (RFI).

The courses cover manufacturing, material characteristics, specification, substrates, installation and manufacturing as they relate to ceramic tile, wood/laminate and resilient flooring.

“We believe that we have brought together a diverse group of industry experts to create much needed inspection categories,” said Claudia Lezelle, IICRC Certification Inspection Division Chairman. “Manufacturers, retailers and consumers now have someone to turn to when problems arise with their specific type of flooring.”
