VANCOUVER, Wash. (July 2006) - The Institute for Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) today announced that it will host a series of one-day workshops across the United States to review and teach the extensive updates and information in the new ANSI/IICRC S500 Standard and Reference Guide for Professional Water Damage Restoration. The ANSI/IICRC S500 is the first standard in the cleaning and restoration industry to achieve the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) acceptance. It was completed and printed in May of 2006.

"The opportunity of attending one of these workshops gives attendees an advantage in their marketplace by bringing the new information into their businesses and leads the field with this new information," said Howard Wolf, Chair of the S500 Standard Committee. .

The workshops will be presented by several IICRC S500 Standard Committee members including S500 Chair Howard Wolf, and committee members Bill Raley, Jeff Bishop, Larry Cooper, Barry Costa, Carl Grimes and Gene Cole. Generally, three speakers participate in each workshop.

The workshops will cover all of the chapters in the Reference Guide. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear first hand what the committee discussed, receive the new information in the Standard and Reference Guide and ask questions of the committee members.

All workshops produced by the IICRC are taught in a generic format. There is no additional sale of tools or equipment. IICRC produces these workshops to bring technical information out to the field as soon as new standards are printed.
