Vancouver, Wash. -- The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) announced increased communication with registrants as one of its primary goals for 2001. The IICRC plans to create a discussion board on the Web site to facilitate communication among registrants and IICRC board members. Important news and developments also will be distributed to trade media to keep the industry informed.

“Our registrants have asked to be kept abreast of IICRC activities—we will keep that as a top priority and open as many channels of communication as possible to accommodate the request,” said Lee Zimmerman, president of the IICRC.

Additional goals include the creation of advanced training categories and stronger relationships with industry associations. The IICRC has experienced a 250 percent growth in registrants since 1990. The new designations will provide registrants who already hold basic certification an opportunity to expand their knowledge and receive more advanced training.

“The IICRC also intends to work with other industry related organizations such as the Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) and the American Furniture Manufacturers Association (AFMA) to promote common goals and strengthen the industry voice,” said Zimmerman.
