“The House Cleaning Technician (HCT) certification is more than simply an employee training course. The certification represents the world class refinement and improvement of the residential cleaning process and is a game changer for the residential cleaning industry,” says ISE administrator David Kiser, owner of Champagne Services of Northern Virginia. “With the approval of The Clean Trust (formerly IICRC), the leading training and certification organization in cleaning, and the endorsement of the Association for Residential Cleaning Services International (ARCSI), the leading professional and industry development organization, the Institute for Service Excellence is eager to begin the work of transforming the residential cleaning industry.”
This course is a peer reviewed, non-prescriptive best practices educational program. Schools and instructors must be vetted and approved by The Clean Trust (formerly IICRC). A strong focus is emphasized with the technicians on following and respecting the procedures of the company they represent. Cleaning companies can prepare themselves and their technicians to take the course with The Professional House Cleaning Technician’s Manual, available for purchase at www.ISEToday.com/BooksMaterials. The manual includes all of the course content on which technicians will be tested.
Bruce and Sarah Vance of Town and Country Cleaning Services of Durham, NC, are the first and (currently) only certified instructors for the HCT course. As The Clean Trust-certified master and journeyman textile cleaners, respectively, the Vances will lead six HCT courses for the Institute for Service Excellence in 2012 and one for the Sunbelt School in Raleigh, NC; registration for the HCT course as well as other courses is available at www.ISEToday.com.
Developing the HCT course has been a primary goal of ARCSI since its founding. With the dedication of the HCT Committee Members Richard Wilson, Liz Trotter, Bruce Vance, Sarah Vance, Tom Stewart, Janice Stewart, Jeff Bishop, Ruth Travis, Joe Dobbins and Janet Dobbins, the cleaning industry is realizing what veteran cleaning service owner Patrick Irwin calls “by far the most significant step forward for the house cleaning industry!”
Toward that end, ISE is poised to be the residential cleaning industry standard-setter and certification organization for House Cleaning Technician (HCT) certification; additional courses focused on specific cleaning approaches, management practices, and related The Clean Trust certifications are being developed to support the growth and professionalism of the residential cleaning industry.
