ISSA's Featured Member for February is Larry Shideler, founder of ProTeam--the world's leading maker of backpack vacuums--and pioneer of the team cleaning method.

LINCOLNWOOD, Ill. -- ISSA's Featured Member for February is Larry Shideler, founder of ProTeam--the world's leading maker of backpack vacuums--and pioneer of the team cleaning method.

The article, located online at, highlights Shideler's journey from contract cleaning to inventing the first commercially successful backpack vacuum to his plans to make ProTeam, now also known as "The Vacuum Company," a leading maker of all types of high-end vacuum cleaners.

The "Featured Member" was introduced by ISSA in 2001 as part of its aggressive strategy to help its members grow through shared expertise. According to Robert Kravitz, manager of Internet content for ISSA, "The 'Featured Member' pays tribute to and chronicles the lives of leading members of ISSA--their industry development, successes and defeats--with the goal of helping other members learn from their experiences."

The Featured Member is changed every month. Upcoming Featured Members include Richard "Dix" Jarden of The Bullen Company, David James Drake of Spartan-Brazil, and Don Lees of Big D.
