MorePort Chester, NY -- Kevin Kingsland, Director of National Accounts for RD Weis Companies, has been appointed to serve on the Membership Committee for the Fairchester Green Building Council membership committee. This is a new non-profit serving the Fairfield and Westchester region.
Kingsland brings to his position at Fairchester GBC years of experience in environmentally friendly flooring solutions. "Our mission is to make sustainable real estate increasingly mainstream by making it easier for those in the real estate and building community to choose sustainable options," Kingsland said.
The Fairchester GBC's goal is to identify the reasons why sustainable solutions are not chosen, and then help provide solutions. Difficulties going green might include a perceived cost premium, limited local availability, or not knowing which products meet the standards of a rating system such as LEED.
The group will create and share viable, cost effective solutions that encourage increased implementation for the local green building community.
Kingsland also serves as Treasurer on the Board of the Hudson Valley Chapter of IFMA.
