Legend Brands sponsors Sterling Marlin at Tennessee speedway

March 12, 2009 – Burlington, Wash. Legend Brands is sponsoring Sterling Marlin in the March 21 “Saturday Night Special” race at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn.

At the Saturday Night Special race, all winnings are donated to charities of the winners’ choice. According to a Bristol Motors Speedway release, this year’s winning team will donate the $25,000 purse to the charity of their choice and will take home the Bristol trophy. The second-place team will donate a $10,000 purse and $5,000 will go to the designated charity of each of the other entrants.

Sterling Marlin has committed any winnings in this race to the National Epilepsy Foundation.

Marlin, son of famed racer Coo Coo Marlin, has been racing since 1976. He has two wins and 11 top-10 finishes at the Daytona 500, and is listed as no. 8 on the all-time Daytona 500 driver list.

“We’re proud to sponsor Sterling Marlin,” said Bill Bruders, CEO of Legend Brands. “Throughout his career, he has demonstrated the kind of consistency and determination that we apply to our business, and his ability to overcome adversity is truly inspiring.” Legend Brands will also be supporting Sterling Marlin’s participation in five other races this year.

Other drivers expected to compete are Cale Yarborough, Harry Gant, David Green, Jack Ingram, Junior Johnson, Terry Labonte, L.D. Ottinger, Phil Parsons, David Pearson, Jimmy Spencer and Rusty Wallace.
