Minuteman introduces Bio-Haz Vac, Decon Chamber for mold and Anthrax remediation

Minuteman International has introduced a vacuum it says is can safely remove hazardous molds and Anthrax.

ADDISON, Ill. -- Cleaning equipment manufacturer Minuteman International, Inc. (Nasdaq:MMAN) has introduced a vacuum it says is designed for the remediation of hazardous molds.

According to Minuteman (www.minutemanintl.com), the Bio-Haz Vac is also designed for the removal and containment of Anthrax spores and viral particulate collection. The Bio-Haz Vac's five-stage filter system uses an Ultra Low Particulate Air (ULPA) filter, which provides a level of 99.999 percent efficiency at 0.12-micron size particulates, according to the company. The machine is designed for dry-only pick-up (particulate matter only, not vapor), with models available in 6- and 15-gallon units (115V and 240V).

For the decontamination of suspicious envelopes and parcels, connect the Bio-Haz Vac to the Bio-Haz Decon Chamber. Biohazard materials are trapped within the Decon Chamber and safely removed through the Bio-Haz Vac's five-stage filtration system, the company reports.

According to Minuteman, the negative pressure within the Bio-Haz Decon Chamber created by the Bio-Haz Vac prevents airborne particulates from escaping during operation. The chamber is constructed of rotationally molded, high impact polyethylene and stands on a three-wheel dolly with a height-adjustable stand. Three large viewing windows provide 565 square inches of viewing area at the top and sides of the chamber. It comes complete with two large, impermeable neoprene gloves with cloth lining.

The Bio-Haz Vac can also be used for general, non-hazardous cleaning applications.

Minuteman International, Inc., is a full line manufacturer of maintenance products including industrial and commercial vacuums, critical filter vacuums, sweepers, scrubbers, floor and carpet machines, PowerBoss sweepers and scrubbers, Parker Sweeper Litter Vacs and Multi-Clean chemicals for industrial, commercial and institutional facilities.
