The Green Cleaning Network and the Leonardo Academy announced the launch of the Cleaning Industry Climate Initiative (www.CleaningIndustryClimateInitiative.org).
“Climate change is going to be one of the most important issues of our time. While the cleaning industry certainly isn’t the major cause of the problem, because we are such a huge industry comprised of over 70,000 companies, hundreds of thousands of vehicles and employing approximately four million people we have to do our part and we can make an important contribution to the solution” said Stephen Ashkin, executive director of the Green Cleaning Network a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization which promotes Green Cleaning.
“The Cleaning Industry Climate Initiative will create awareness and help companies, especially janitorial product distributors and facility service providers to voluntarily begin measuring, reducing and offsetting their emissions. This is one of the obvious next steps for companies that promote Green Cleaning and who have begun their journey towards sustainability,” he said.
