New research institute discussed at ISSA

Almost 50 people representing more than 30 organizations in the building maintenance industry met during ISSA/Interclean 2004 New Orleans to discuss the creation of the a new not-for-profit research institute.

Hosted by Castle Rock Industries, Inc., Cleaning Management Institute and Concepts IV, the goal of the meeting was to define the vision and mission for a Cleaning Industry Research Institute that would support all areas of the building maintenance industry by assembling information, facilitating research and initiating scientific inquiry on cleaning function and cleanliness.

The meeting was the first of three planned gatherings. A steering committee will meet in February to define the CIRI's structure and organization. A major industry meeting is tentatively scheduled for June.
