Welcome to the Spring 2001 issue of Commercial Floor Care, where you’ll find pages of editorial content devoted to the commercial floor care industry and its needs.

We have remained persistent in our principle goal of providing informative and stimulating articles. Included within the pages of this issue are extensive feature articles on: Sprucing Up Your Retail & Office Maintenance Program; Selecting Floor Care Equipment to Fit Your Facility’s Needs by Alan S. Bigger, director of Building Services, University of Notre Dame; Choosing the Right Mop For the Right Job, an eye-opener to unrealized labor- and time-savings; and Contingency Plan: Expect the Unexpected.

Also within this issue, you’ll find how-to and problem-solving columns on: Selecting the Right Pads or Brushes Will Save Time and Money by hard floor maintenance specialist Stanley Quentin Hulin; Performance Insurance: The What, How and Why of Commercial Carpet Maintenance by our resident carpet expert and inspector, Mark Violand; and expanded Industry News, Education & Networking and New Products sections, as well as our signature Product & Literature Guide.

The editorial goal of CFC is to provide timely and educational articles on such topics as safety and safety regulations, legal issues, management and training, and the care and maintenance of various types of floor covering in myriad environments.

If you lack the time to read the magazine at home, or are on the road constantly, then log on to www.commercialfloorcare.com where you will find many of the features and departments of our magazine at your fingertips, as well as an active bulletin board occupied by the concerns of your peers.

Look for the Summer 2001 issue soon. We promise to bring you the most comprehensive and up-to-date information on commercial floor care.

I am always open to your suggestions, comments and concerns. Together, we will make CFC the industry’s most preferred source of information.
