OMNOVA taps Hohman as division vp

Speciality chemicals manufacturer OMNOVA Solutions named James J. Hohman vice president of its Paper & Carpet Chemicals Division.

FAIRLAWN, Ohio -- The OMNOVA Solutions (NYSE:OMN) Board of Directors named James J. Hohman vice president of the Paper & Carpet Chemicals Division, part of the Performance Chemicals business segment, a position he has held since December of 2000.

Previously, he was vice president, Specialty Chemicals, and before that, vice president, Paper Chemicals for OMNOVA. He joined the company in March 1996 as director of strategic business development for the performance chemicals business segment.

"Jim has demonstrated outstanding leadership in strengthening OMNOVA's Performance Chemicals business," said OMNOVA chairman and CEO Kevin McMullen. "His drive for technology leadership and use of strategic alliances has improved our competitive position, particularly in paper and carpet chemicals."

OMNOVA Solutions ( is a technology-based company with 2000 sales of $773 million and 2,500 employees worldwide. OMNOVA is a major innovator of decorative and functional surfaces, emulsion polymers and specialty chemicals.
