Joe Polish and Piranha Marketing, to further increase their support of Barry Costa and Tom Hill in their Disney World Marathon charity run for the Leukemia Society, planned an impromptu seminar, prior to the run in January, to raise additional contributions. With less than 10 days notice, more than 80 carpet cleaners attended the event and helped raise an $4,200 in addition to the thousands of dollars already contributed by Piranha Members worldwide.

In exchange for a suggested donation of $97 (cleaners who could not afford this were allowed to attend for free), Joe Polish conducted a half-day seminar. Attendees were given a Piranha Quick Start Marketing Kit of ad samples and strategies, and also had the rare opportunity to hear advertising insight from world-renowned copywriter Gary Halbert.

The charity run, which Hill and Costa trained for all year long, was held to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, a disease that took the life of Barry's daughter Kimberly last summer at the age of 19.
