ASCR Board Hires New Executive Director

September 9, 2005
MILLERSVILLE, MD, September 9, 2005 -- The Board of Directors of the Association of Specialists in Cleaning and Restoration (ASCR) has hired a new executive director to head the association.

"The Vice President and I are very pleased to announce that after a long and exhaustive search, we have selected Don Manger to lead the association to the next level," said Association President Bill Lakin.

Manger brings to ASCR an extensive background in trade association management, accumulated over nearly 30 years in the field. During his career, he has served as the chief staff executive of associations in commercial construction, corporate finance and banking, and financial services. He has also held positions in sales and consulting.

In addition, Manger has been the principal executive in the turnaround management of two associations, including the Association of Financial Professionals, where revenues and membership grew 400 percent under his management. He replaces former executive director Larry Jacobson, who left the association in April.

"We look forward to working with Don as he assists ASCR in expanding our membership base, enhancing member benefits, maximizing our efficiency and effectiveness, and improving communications with members and non-members," said Lakin.
