The best
way to deal with bedbugs: Never let them in the house.
However,
as these tiny bugs infest homes and hotel rooms, and pop up in movie theaters,
stores' dressing rooms and office buildings, a random brush with a bedbug may happen
-- and it can turn a household upside down.
It's
a growing problem: 95% of the almost 1,000 U.S. and international
pest-management companies surveyed said their company has encountered a bedbug
infestation in the past year, up from 25% who said that a decade ago, according
to a survey released last month by the National Pest Management Association and
the University of Kentucky.
Once
bedbugs get into your house,
the
costs of eradicating them can run from hundreds to thousands of dollars.
