CHICAGO – Building Service Contractors
Association International (BSCAI) recently elected new members to leadership
positions for the 2010 term of office. The 2010 executive committee includes
President, J. Michael Horgan; President-elect, Sally Schopmeyer;
Vice-President, Terry Woodley, CBSE; Treasurer Kevin S. Rohan, CBSE and Past
President, Stanley Doobin.
Serving as
BSCAI’s president in 2010 is J. Michael Horgan. Horgan’s contributions to
the building service contracting industry span more than 40 years. A
graduate of Loyola College in Montreal with an Honors Degree in History, Horgan
previously served as BSCAI’s vice-president and treasurer. He has been actively
involved with the Building Maintenance Contractors Association of Canada as
Past president in 1980 and in 1981 and was a BSCAI board member from
1997-2000. He is the proud recipient of the W.I.S Hogg award for International
Achievement.
Since 1980,
Michael has been a member of the executive team at Hurley Corporation, a
leading North American BSC, and currently holds the position of President and
Co-CEO where he is responsible for corporate strategic planning, major accounts
and acquisitions. Horgan volunteers outside the industry as a board member
of the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre foundation in Toronto as well as
with other medical and education foundations.
BSCAI
president-elect is Sally Schopmeyer. Schopmeyer is president of Maintenance,
Inc. located in Dallas, Texas, which provides janitorial service for commercial
offices, medical facilities, industrial plants, owner-occupied facilities and
shopping centers in Texas, Florida, Colorado, New Mexico, Arkansas, Oklahoma,
Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina and Alabama. Schopmeyer started with
Maintenance, Inc. in 1990. She has served as vice president of business
development, executive vice president and since 1999, president.
Outside of
BSCAI she is currently on the Advisory Board of the Dallas Children's Theater
and has served two three-year terms on the board of trustees. She is active in
her church, local Chamber of Commerce and is secretary of her children’s school
board.
BSCAI’s 2010 vice president is Terry
Woodley, CBSE, vice president and chief operating officer of Woodley Building
Maintenance (WBM), a full-service cleaning and facilities maintenance company
serving clients in Missouri, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Florida and Arizona. He
has been a full-time member of the family-owned company’s management team since
1997, where his primary role is the “Customer Guy,” responsible for attracting
new customers and maintaining existing ones. Since he joined WBM, the company
has grown from 300 employees to more than 1,000.
Woodley graduated from the University
of Missouri with a B.S. in Accounting in 1988. Immediately after finishing
his degree, Woodley spent four years with Touche Ross (now known as Deloitte)
and then five years as the chief financial officer of a large international
seminar company.
Serving as BACAI’s 2010 treasurer is
Kevin S. Rohan, CBSE. Kevin started Cavalier Services in 1977 and continues
today as the president and CEO. A full-service facilities service company,
Cavalier offers cleaning, maintenance, light engineering, construction and
personnel leasing services to a wide-range of clients. Employing more than
2,000 teammates, Cavalier operates primarily in the mid-Atlantic and
Southeastern United States. Kevin has been deeply involved in BSCAI, chaired
several committees and spoken at numerous convention and regional seminars. In
addition to BSCAI, he has been a past president and board member of the Capitol
Association of Building Service Contractors.
Serving as BSCAI’s past president is
Stanley Doobin. Doobin joined Harvard Maintenance, Inc. in 1984 and became
President in 1992. Since becoming president, Harvard has grown from $10 million
to more than $210 million. The company services large Class A buildings as well
as Fortune 500 headquarters and professional sports arenas/stadiums. Doobin is
President of the Accident Prevention & Safety League, Inc., the workers
compensation safety group for building service contractors in New York. He is
also on the board of directors for New Destiny Housing Corp., a not-for-profit
that provides housing and support services for survivors of domestic violence.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from Washington & Lee
University in 1981 and an MBA from Emory University in 1984. He also is a
Certified Public Accountant.
