Los Angeles Chapter Director Vince Attardo reports that the June chapter meeting will feature special guest speaker Darrell Paulson from Advanced Restoration Specialist Inc. Darrell will be speaking on "The State of the Cleaning and Restoration Industries” with a Q& A to follow.



Los Angeles -- Chapter Director Vince Attardo reports that the June chapter meeting will feature special guest speaker Darrell Paulson from Advanced Restoration Specialist Inc. Darrell will be speaking on "The State of the Cleaning and Restoration Industries” with a Q& A to follow. There will be no charge to CFI members, and $15 to non-members. As a bonus there will be an "All You Can Eat BBQ" smoked Tri-tip, salad, beans, rice, and all the fixins for a real feast. Orange / Inland Empire --There will be a CFI meeting held at Routley Enterprises, 1323 Logan Avenue, Costa Mesa, June 2 at 6:00 pm. The meeting will featuring CTI Pro`s Choice with a "hands-on” demo for stain removal. As a special CFI membership bonus, Routely Enterprises is now offering CFI members a 20% discount off on chemicals.

Central Coast / Northern California -- Chapter Director Rick Lewis reports that there will be a chapter meeting at California Cleaning Supply, 45200 Industrial Dr. Unit #5, Fremont, June 30 from 6:00 - 8:30pm. The topic will be a open forum with a surprise guest for a "Summer Kick Off Mixer."

"The Cleaners Coffee Club" is going strong. Meetings are held at Pro Line Carpet Maintenance Supply in both San Carlos and Sacramento. Everyone is invited to join in at no cost. The meetings in Sacramento are held on the first Monday of every month from 8:00 am to 9:30 am, at 4061 Palm Ave. The meetings in San Carlos are held on the first Tuesday of every month, from 8:00 am to 9:30 am, at 1033 Center St. For further information call Rick Lewis at 650-766-5630. Arizona -- Chapter Director Norma McCormick reports that the charity cleaning event for "Maggie’s Place," a home for unwed moms in the Valley was very successful. Generous CFI members donated time and materials to clean the tile, carpet, and upholstery at their three houses and staff house.

June 15 - 16, 2009: CFI will sponsor an IICRC Leather Cleaning and Repair Technician (LCT) class at A1 Carpet Service 2630 W. Townley Avenue, Phoenix.. The class will be instructed by Pamela Villagome, who has been in the leather industry for 15 years. This course will help you understand the importance of leather identification and proper cleaning methods and products. You will experience hands on removal of ink, oil, stains, scratches and light color loss. Leather is everywhere - furniture, jackets, autos, airplanes, offices, hotels, clothing, etc. This is an opportunity to open new markets for your business. Registration Fee: CFI Members $300.00. The Arizona "CFI Master Mind Group" invites everyone to our breakfast meeting at the Roadhouse on 24th Street and University in Phoenix are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 am. Any and all are encouraged to attend for brainstorming on any issues or problems they might be encountering. San Diego -- Chapter Director Gabe Mathews has been busy scheduling upcoming chapter meetings. June will be "Marketing: What works and doesn't work?". July will be 'Rug cleaning with Lisa Blatchford". August will feature "Water damage: Heat vs. Dehumidifiers - What's your input?" November will cover "Natural Stone Cleaning and Polishing." December is the Christmas party.

Gabe invites everyone to our monthly breakfast meeting held at 7:30am on the first Tuesday of each month at The Original Pancake House, 3906 Convoy St. San Diego. Beginners or veterans are invited, just pay for your own breakfast and network with other cleaners, restorers, rug cleaners and suppliers. Education -- Education Director Peter Sierck will be instructing upcoming IICRC classes to be held at A+Plus Environmental Supplies (Courtesy of Ralph and Regina), 13535 Marquardt Avenue, Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670. The Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT ) course will be held June 23 - 26 .Our mold and sewage back flow remediation technician class includes a hands-on section and the exam for IICRC certification. The course provides the necessary training to conduct or evaluate remediation projects. Course prerequisite is the attendance of a water damage restoration technician (WRT) class. This AMRT class also qualifies for IICRC continuous education credits (CEC). Future scheduled AMRT class date is October 27-30.
